MEET PRSA AUSTIN CHAPTER MEMBER: Julie Springer-Holmes

CURRENT LIVELIHOOD: I serve as CEO and Vice President of Public Relations for ID.CREATIVE, a best-in-class public relations and digital media marketing agency based here in Austin.

CHILDHOOD AMBITION: What I wanted to be when I grew up oscillated between a professional ballerina and an attorney. Obviously, I became neither but would still like to be either one of those. 

DRAW TO THE COMMUNICATIONS FIELD: My mother told me I had 'the gift of gab' and I excelled at writing, so pursing a career in communications seemed the best choice.

ALMA MATER: I attended the University of New Mexico but ultimately graduated from Texas State University; a wonderful school for communications. 

HOMETOWN: I am from Houston, but moved to Austin when I was 19. I've lived in Albuquerque, all over Southern California and several places in the Middle East. 

MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE AS A COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONAL: My most memorable experience as a communications professional was the work I did for Shell subsidiary, Shell Energy North America. I worked on a team that re-branded and repositioned that company, and we won numerous awards, in public relations and marketing. I am very proud of the work I did at Shell.

FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT AUSTIN AND FAVORITE AUSTIN RESTAURANTS: My husband is a chef, so we love food, and we eat out quite a bit. We have our favorite date spots such as Olivia or Botticelli. We also love Alamo Draft House.
