Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is one of Austin’s most dynamic and best-loved nonprofits. The organization is the leader in the no kill movement nationally and is considered a national thought leader in animal welfare. APA! locally rescues, treats, and adopts out 10,000 homeless dogs and cats each year, providing the safety net for Austin’s most at-risk shelter pets, which helps Austin to be a No Kill city, while also assisting other communities in saving homeless animals.

Job Description: The Manager of Internal Communications is a core member of the APA! Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team and is responsible for developing, producing, and distributing relevant information to Austin Pets Alive! staff, volunteers and fosters. This role will also lead executive communications for the President and CEO as well as other executive leaders as needed. The manager of internal communications manages a wide variety of internal-facing communications on a daily basis. This role reports to the Sr. Director Strategic Communications and marketing, and interacts with executive leadership, staff and volunteers throughout the organization providing support by developing and implementing communication assets throughout a wide range of channels and tactics including but not limited to email, video, social media content and intranet resources.
Candidate Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or closely related field; or equivalent professional experienceMinimum of 4 years of experience in corporate or internal communicationsStrong project management skills and attention to detailProven experience in achieving results in a dynamic, small-team environment.
